Saturday October 26th, 4pm-6pm
We are trying something new for Trunk or Treat 2024! All trunks participating in Trunk or Treat will be parked somewhere in the paved parking area, ie the horseshoe, in front of the chapel, etc. Everywhere that is paved is what we will use to park trunks. If you are volunteering to help set up, or just attending the event, PLEASE park at the Dial America parking lot to leave the back parking lot open to the community attending. Hopefully this encourages more from our community to attend the event with no parking barriers. If you are volunteering for anything extra that is not a trunk, ie facepaint, serving food, etc, this will all be held on the front lawn this year. The concept is that people will park in the back parking lot, walk between the trash can and car port and start trunks there. They will filter through the Worship Center to hear the Gospel presented, come back out and through more trunk lines. When completing the trunk line, they will be released onto the front lawn for games, food, etc. We are hoping this encourages the community to stay and hangout on campus longer which means more room for conversations to strike up! If you have any questions, please reach out. All you need to know for now is where you are signing up to serve. More emails to come with better directions and we will have directions in place on day-of.
If you signed up for a trunk, please arrive at the church starting at 3:00pm. Please be here no later than 3:30pm. We need to get everyone in their spaces and provide enough time to park everyone before people start coming through the line. If you wish to be parked next to a friend, BOTH CARS MUST ARRIVE TOGETHER. You will use the entrance to the back lot off of S Antler Drive. You will not be able to enter from Greenridge Road. The S Antler entrance will be the only one available. Once you arrive, someone will greet you at the entrance and help you get to your spot. We will have a team helping everyone park. By 4:00 pm, the lot will be set and we will begin.
We will begin at 4:00 pm and the doors will close at 6:00 pm. It will probably take about 30 minutes or so for people to get through the entire line of trunks, so we should be done around 6:30 pm. Once the last group has started going through the line, I will come by to let you know that we are done and you can begin packing up.
Please plan for 800-1,000 kids. Every year is a little different, but we are expecting a large crowd. We have plenty of extra candy that will be available if you begin to run out. People will be coming by the trunks regularly to restock candy if you need it. Also, if we have 75 trunks, kids will get plenty of candy. Don't feel obligated to give each kid a lot of candy if you think you won't have enough.
If you volunteered to help before the event for set-up, please arrive at 1:30pm. We would really appreciate it if you also park in the Dial America parking lot and walk to the church. On arrival, find Randy and he will get you started. If you want to volunteer earlier, Randy will be on campus by noon to get started working.
We should be done and have everything cleaned up by 7:00-7:15 pm.
Please let us know if you have any thoughts or questions. If you need Randy's number on the day of the event, it is 910-352-4337. Thank you so much for your willingness to serve.
